half way thru...

4th week of camp and hmm wat esle has been happening. well on monday there was senoirs visiting night and on tuesday and thursday the kids performed the play "annie" and boy were they good!!!! some of the kids work at broadway so yeh no suprise there heyz. and omg the parents come with really nice bouquets to give to their kids at the end of the shows.. bit over top don't u think!

hmm wat esle well half way thru camp which meant i had to say good bye to some of my kids!!! that was pretty sad and man i'm really dreading week 8 when i have to say goodbye to the kids who have been here for the whole 8 weeks! apart from that it wasnt a very eventful week apart from me serving popcorn on play nights which was pretty fun and lots and lots of bitching and words being thrown around! oh and how cud i forget! i lost my bloody wallet on sunday and i only relised on wed! so yeh i relised i left it at some dodgy laundry mat in the mexican ghetto called spring valley, coz i was too busy wieghin myself on their stupid scales! anyways thank god noone touched my credit cards! eek

on fri 13th we went to palasiens mall again to do some more shopping and brought some really cheap bathers!!! i picked up a pair for $7! haha h & m is so cheap! anyways i had mexican food and man the mexican food is soooooo different from what it is back home! ok u noe how back home you cudnt really tell if u were eating a fajita, taco or burrito coz they all kinda taste the same but just wrapped differently. well over here is so damn good! and they NEVER use mince meat in their wraps or nachos! omg icant wait to go to mexico!! after that sarah, georgi and i decided to head down to the cheesecake factory which is a highly rated resturant. we decided just to go for cake and boy there were so many to choice from! i got the white choc peanut butter truffle and man i am officially cheesecaked out! georgie had the biggest slice of choc cake i ever seen in my life! but yeh the slices were massive and was sooooooo rich! after that kirsty, maia, jack and i headed to fox sports bar for a drink, while sarah and goergi went to watch harry potter and waited in line for ages for the final book..retards haha jokes i shudnt say coz i haven't read anything after the first book so yeh i might actually like it.

14th july sat, ian and i went for a mega bike ride to ridgewood which is a small town like an hour from here! it was a pretty good one and the houses that we past..omg were so massive! it was a pretty good day but by the end of our 3 hr bike ride my bum was sooooo sore! we didnt do much coz it we just wanted to chill at the pool the whole day after that. that night however, perry this guy took us to a drive in movie!!!!!!!! it was soooo awesome and its such an american thing to do! hahah anyways its weird coz like when we were waiting for the movies to start kids got out with their baseball gloves and ball like we wud take out our footy! hehe anyways we watched chuck and larry as well as knocked up for $7.50 how cool is that! oh and u tune ur car radio to a certain station so u get wicked sound haha it was a pretty kool night! saturday was also when our last international (mel), arrive at camp. shes from nz and apparntly shes going to shake things up abit with the horse girls! hehe

anyways ive forgotten what i was going to say but yeh i will prob come up with later! anyways what the hell has everyone been up to? give me the goss! oh u noe what! i saw my first deer!!!! it freaked the shit out of me!!!! and u noe how at home we have kangeroo signage, well over here its deers! hahah will have to show u the picture of the signs haha

3rd of camp

well good times sure fly by quik! well its friday and the end of third week of camp unfortunately! everyones going out tonight and bugging me to go out tonights but am way toooo tired and saving myself for tmz! we having a pub crawl and guys are dressing up as golfers so yeh see how that goes and will keep u up to date!

anyways wats been happening the last week or two... well ill start with


4th july... well went over to mouras house to have a bbq that day. the weather was really shit like raining the whole day. but yeh the bbq was really kool! for those who arenät familar with wat they do on independance day, itäs just a whole day filled with food, drinks and fireworks! hehe kinda feels like chinese new year actually. itäs kinda like our australia day. anyways we had heaps of food well that isnt a suprise is it! the food was awesome, especially the desert! helen whom is mouras sis even made two ice cream cakes which was awesome, muffins and choc cake decorated with red blue and white cream and sprinklers! the ice cream was sooo good esp reeces peanut butter one! omg! the crew was pretty kool made up pretty much all the swimmers who cwork at camp and some freinds. the fireworks were postponed to saturday which i didnät mind coz all fireworks are pretty much the same anyways right!

hmm what esle, oh yeh how could i forget, on sat 07.07.07 was LIVE EARTH concert! and hmm let me see how can i word it, prob one of the most amzing things iäve done in my life! it was fucking awesome! it was at the giant stadium, nj and the place alone was fucking huge! the line up is pretty teeny boppy but man was sooo cool! i saw, kt tunstall, ludacris, fall out boy, taking back sunday, alicia keys, kelly clarkson, akon, kanye west, afi, dave mathews band, john mayer, keith urban, bon jovi, and man he was prob the best performer! but man they alllllll were so good! i wish everyone was with me watching it coz man they are good! on top of that we had several presenters such as al gore, LEO DICAPRIO, and cameron diaz!!!!! oh and zach brafff! is that how u spell his name? but man leo is one fucking hot guy! hehe but yeh we were sitting way back hahah but yeh i didnt care was soooooooo good being there with georgi, ian and claire and he freinds! emily was abit of a dick but yeh i donät even want to mention her.. actually iäm going to go off at her on this blog.

well emily is some chick at camp that is a total american bimbo and she doesnt have any freinds therefore trying to met some boys at this concert. anyways claire freinds ie boys wanted to leave when the police were going to play so we had to leave as her freind was going to take us back to the car instead of us catching the shuttle back to the car which was going to apprantly take ages. INSTEAD we got to the carpark and waited around while her fucktard of a freind started drinking and emily cracks one open as well. and shes suppose to be driving and over here its like a one beer limit or sumthing like that. but anyways we got pissed off and ian finally had the balls to say lets GO! but yeh lesson of the day, dont trust desperate amercian short girls coz they will fuck ur night up! but get this she came up to me yesterday and was like hey min whenever u need something like to go to the mall or movies or watever just let me noe coz i willl take u anywhere, man if only u guys cud see my face when she told me. i swear i could of knocked her out.

anyways apart from that oh so slightly hiccup, the night was really good i just felt really bad for ian coz he really wanted to see the police whereas i was like yeh i wud have relly like to stay to watch them but yeh glad i saw everyone esle kinda thing. oh yeh man i officially confirm that pretzels here are shit. i got one at the stadium and man tastes worst than damper. however i do however love the packet pretzels like the parker ones we get at home but the ones here are wayyyy better! mmm yummy

anyways hmm wat esle been happening. oh yeh how the hell could i forget! ok all that live earth stuff happened on sat, but on fri we went to olive garden and had dinner coz tori whom is a horse riding girl decides she doesnät want to finish camp coz she reckons its crap and yeh we were having a going away dinner for her. olive garden is hmm kinda shit but yeh its like a restuarant chain here kinda like sizzlers but more expensive and sells italian food. u get free entrees which is kool but yeh i got this pasta and was soooo salty. and the pasta is like the same shit u wud get from the continental pasta packs for 99cents on special at coles, no jokes.

but yeh thats the second weekend that ive kinda missed out in terms of people getting drunk on the weekends along with the gossip! but yeh everyones kinda hooking up with everyone and some of the boys are giving shit to some of the girls and vice versa. but yeh things are getting pretty catty over here so yeh when everyones drunk its like times ten! anyways sumthing that i thought was really funny that i like to share is that we have this aussie indian guy named nareesh i think thats how u spell it anyways hes a pretty sleezy guy whoes just looking for a shag or shall i say trying to get a shag anyways started making out with this american horse girl, btw horse girls are the girls teaching horse riding, and yeh was rubbing against her leg that she ended up with a bruise on her leg! hahahahaha and so everyone calls him dry hump nows haha anyways but yeh i dunno how funny or lame it came out when ur reading it but yeh i think its pretty funny

anyways this whole week we had parents visint us at nights to see what the camp has been up to and what the camp has offered the kids... which meant i had to work from 6 to 9 everynight. i get pretty nervous infront of the parents but yeh everything went really well and my worst class was actually one of my best swimmers of the all! anyways thursday night was cancelled due to a massive storm. which is good! haha but yeh if i forgot to mention that over here thunderstorms literally come and go and when they come omg they hit really hard! like we had a stream and it overflowed! and the other night it was a really hot humid day like in the high 20s then the storm hit and it hailed! everyone was like wtf! then it was over in like 10 mins and the sun starts shining again. its so weird. anyways have u guys seen hope and faith? anyways kelly ripper of the girl that plays the bimbo sister is a parent of one of the kids who comes to ramapo and i saw her last night. shes doesnt do hope and faith anymores but she hosts a really big morning show over here and is still pretty famous so poor liz who had her kidwas shitting her self hahaha atleast we noe she will get decent tips!

hmm well ok change of plans i am goin out tonight so yeh have to go get ready! btw knishes are the best things ever!!! they are like mashed potato stuff and are crumbed and they tasted fucking awesome! along with dunkin donuts! and yeh i noe what everyone is thinking,....iäm going to end up looking like yeemins fat sister by the end of my trip! hahah oh wells i canät be in america and not eat shit! hehehe

lovin it

moura invited us to dinner on tuesday night at her place so maia and i got picked up and went and had coffee in her town called ellendale i think... but itäs such a cute town, the coffe place is sooooooo cute! we went into the local supermarket and it had a self check out counter!!!!!! that was way too kool! after that we cruised around her town and man the houses are like castles here!!!!!! both the run dmcs live around here and we went past i think sumthings simmons house and oomg its massive!! i got pics kinda coz we were in a car! haha and mary j blige lives around the place as well! anyways we went to mouras and had dinner and met her parents! they are sooooo cool! i think they are the first family i met that hate george bush! haha butyeh everyone seems to think highly of him over here.

anyways iäve set up an skype account and i recommend everyone get it coz its free phone calls if u have an account but yeh itäs kinda like chatting on msn anyways. anyways i totally forgot to mention that theres heaps of squirrels and chipmunks over here!! they are sooooooooooo cute!! iäm yet to see a deer!

well itäs the eve of independence day and im staying at home having a quiet one coz i need some sleep but heading to mouras for a bbq tmz and then heading to pearl river which is a little town closest to us to watch fireworks. so cant wait for that!

im geting kinda homesick! i wish everyone i knew was here as well hahah but yeh weäve got some pretty cool internationals! but yeh i have a feeling that hell is going to break lose sooon in this house due to too many girls in the same house! 12 to be exact! but anyways ok back to the nice night in...

weekend in manhattan!

first week of camp is over! and man we all needed a break! so i organized to go to the city on fri night and stay the night! it was abit of work but finally when everyone was ready we took a cab then a train into the city with claire, emily, georgi, sarah, niklas, marcus, aneeka.

we got off at penn station and omg the terminal is massive and theres even a kmart there! we got a bottle of vodka and drank away ready for the night! we got there about 9 and stayed at the chelsea spot hostel which is really really good! the service is excellant! the cons of it was that the floors were all sloped to the centre of the building... that was weird. and the bunks had to be kept stabled with yellow pages. how dodgy haha



we got ready to go out and made our way to east village or was it union square...to meet up with meagan, ashley and other american horse girls haha we went into the crocodile lounge to have some beers. and get this, for every drink u buy, u get a free pizza! omg and its hands down one of the best pizzas ive ever had, i wud have paid for it! after a couple and heap sof pizza!...man im going to be so fat... we headed to bar none to boogie. it was pretty good music and we had heaps of fun! hahah the boys got some haha



we headed into nathans hot dog and man the hot dogs are so good! then caught the taxi back home. man it was a really good night and there were some good looking american guys haha



30th june sat... we got ready by 11am amazingly and waited for the boys get to the hostel. hah they definietly had the walk of shame! we were starving so went to a cafe and burgers and fries! omg they were so good! after that we spent a while in h and m, omg haha then headed down town to ground zero, and man was that intense!!! it was really eeerie and really intense. some of the gurls checked out the museum but i didnt coz iäm waiting for hq to come so i wonät need to do it twice. but they said that it was really intense, but i will have to tell u what its like. we went to century 21 which is suppose to be a really good discount store of major brands but is pretty shit

we then made our way to battery park to for a rest and a had another hot dog from some stupid hot dog stand run by dodgy indians... hahah dont noe why i just didnt go to another. we then walked over to catch the staten island ferry that cruises past the statue of liberty for free to staten island. that was pretty cool coz we got to see whole of manhattan skyline as well as the statue of liberty which is so puiney. hahah well not as big as they make it out to be. when we got off we decided to catch the subway back to times square coz we wanted to go to the ambercrombie and fitch store. we walked around a whole block just to find the friggin subway entry and it was just infront of us the whole time! hahah

when we got there we had to walk up like 10 streets along 5th avenue and man all the shops are there like the big brands such as armani versace etc as well as the trump towers and the nba store! we finally got to a and f, and boy itäs prob the best store iäve ever been into. itäs like a nightclub, so really dark and loud music pumping. the people who work there are the models for the labels and theres topless guys at the door trying to invite u into the store! hahah so yeh itäs a pretty cool concept and itäs 4 storeys high! haha but yeh all the guys are pretty hot and so are the chicks but they sure noe it! hahah

after that we were hell hungry and everyone was pretty edgy so we caught the subway back to penn station and we decided to go to tgi friday...on a saturday... for dinner haha
finally we made it and man it was so good! haha jack daniels burger all the way! with a milkshake, the traditional american diner meal! hehe after dinner everyone was pretty amped again!.. to go home! haha but yeh everyone was in a good mood again!

we made our way to the train station and caught the train back home! we met up with the swedish porn stars at secaucus and made our way back to ramsey 17. once again we encounter stupid dodgy taxi drivers who are always late and canät talk proper english! argh i hate taxi drivers here!!!!!!!

kids are here!

25th of june! kids are coming today and theres a real buzz in the air! i have to wake up at bloody 530am to make sandwiches! thats going to happen for the rest of camp! we make heaps of sandwiches! i make 85 tuna sanggas everyday minimum! i äm so sick of tuna! eeeww.

anyways by 8 after brekkie i had to go down to my bus spot which i will be for the rest of camp and guide buses up the hill. when the buses came and the kids started flooding in. omg itäs amzing! the kids are soooooo excited and amped! and ofcourse cute! haha most of them!

i quickly rush to the pool and classes are sooooooooo hectic! i have classes from 945 to 1245 and after that its lunch and lifeguarding duties! all the swimmers have it pretty easy compared to other instructors. i have really cool kids and i already remember the naughty ones! haha lunch is amzing!!!! theres a full salad bar and monday was pasta and sauce! omg pizza and itäs soooooo good! i donät think i can ever get sick of american pizza!...yet hehehe well camp days are pretty tiring esp for me coz mines start at 530 in the morning! apart from that the kids are super fun and lunch is awesome! hahahaah everyone keeps telling me to shut up bout it! haha

anyways just got tickets to live earth! wohoo for next weekend and canät wait! actually i can but the line up is pretty cool but i really want to see some live music! we trying to head into nyc this weekend to party! haha man iäm going to be so broke! haha i havnäet even donät all the tourisy stuff yet! never mind that will have to wait for hq! haha
anyways did ya noe that microwaves donät spin here! weird. seems like itäs not cooking or getting warm coz its not spinning! hehe

booo to taxi drivers

23rd June...well after a pretty good weekend which i will talk about first! actually i forgot to mention that last weekend we went to a bar called horse and jockey for claire's bday which was pretty good! everyone got pretty drunk coz drinks are super cheap. the night was definitely an icebreaker between all the internationals... haha anyways last weekend we went to pub 17 which was pretty good but it's a hell american pub with hot waitresses with their tans and hair trying to get guys to buy more drinks. but the talent was pretty good. i think we would have a way better time at pub 17 if the music was abit better..more or less the night was way more tamed than the weekend before!

while trying to get a taxi back which we waited for 30 mins for. we encountered the worst taxi driver ever!!! the driver first wanted $100 for the trip which is a major rip off as it only took us $35 for a maxi taxi to get there. secondly he had no idea where he was going! so much for a taxi driver!...as i'm pretty sure its part of their job description. he then asked us for directions like" which exit should i get off?" ...wtf.. well noone really knew and we were all too pissed to care. we then had to get directions from a gas station, which he forgot...he didn't want to call anyone coz i reckon he knew he would be in big trouble if he did!

it took us an hour and a half to get home instead of 15 mins. man i wish i took a pic of him because he is one f***ed up guy! the swedish guys still had energy to run around in their boxers in rthym to venga boys, i was buggered!

24th June...went for a morning swim coz i was still buzzing from the night before.. but then got caught in the rong time and place because we then had to make lane ropes in the hot hot heat with a mjor hang over. well wasn't that bad but it's still pretty shit when u have to work on ya day off. after lunch we decided to spend the day at the palastein mall which is the 3rd biggest shopping mall in america. all the guys were too hung over so it was just tori, sarah, maia and i.

we waited 45 mins for the stupid taxi when they said 10 -15mins. we actually had to call another one and the second one that we called came first. ugh. the driver almost killed me while making a 3 point turn which took forever because he was trying to open his drink. his radio sucked big time and then he puts his like latino music on and started singing! not just soft singing, like loud singing! then he pulls out a massive deep fried chiken drumstick out of nowhere and starts hacking into it! tori was in the passengers seat and the look she gave me was classic! hahahah i lost it by then. all the taxis in the area are so beaten up and gross! and they take their bloody time to pick us up! argh

the mall was pretty big and has pretty much everything! it's pretty good but yeh not too fussed about shopping atm coz i will have to carry everything around the country so will save shopping for later i think! but vic secret is having a summer sale and their stuff is hot! i rate it!
the highlight was i had wendy's!!! and no it's not the ice cream shop! i rate the chicken nuggets!!!! yuuuuuuuuummmmy! the taxi we caught back was pretty good! we definitely got his card for future reference!

one week down

well all week we have been getting the camp ready before kids arrive which meant cleaning the pool for us everyday and lifeguard training. until i got sick on tues and weds...we have to wear that stupid tube thing that u see in movies when we are life guarding ALL the time!! it looks so stupid and it's so bloody big! anyways i'm getting majorly brown! haha it's awesome here coz we don't have a massive hole in the ozone layer so u just tann and don't burn! wohoo


thursday we got a day off and everyone got driven into manhattan in the big yellow school bus! haha. i spent the most of the day with a freo chick = maia, austrian=martina and swedish= marianne. we are all the swim people for the summer! we got dropped off at lincoln square and made our way down through times square to get some food. after that we caught the subway which is so bloody dodgy and dirty! don't expect anything like the mrt haha.

we arrived at chinatown... and omg it was a different world... it has illegal immigrants written all over it! hahaha it's pretty cool coz there was heaps of cheap stalls and even maccas signage was in chinese and starbucks was amzing. the interior was like an old chinese building..really kool. even the stalls down here were different. instead of selling hotdogs and pretzels, there were wontons and fried squid! haha after that made our way down to little italy which was pretty kool too. had heaps of restuarants and gelato!!! we just went through it pretty much so we can reach soho!! soho is like shopping central. with your major brands and cheap stuff too! victoria secret is shaving a summer sale but by the time u queue to get in, everything will be gone! it was so bloody busy! i didn't do much shopping coz then i will have to carry it around the whole country so shopping will have to wait til i'm back!

we left to empire state building to meet up with the boys for some drinks. when we got there it was pretty clear that they been drinking the whole day. typical of guys huh, come all the way to nyc and drink! omg. maia and i left for some food and we went into this food deli thing where u can myo anything. almost. i had the worst pasta ever! maia was awesome because the bloody mexcian dude had a crush on her and wanted her to come again tommorow. haha we went back for a couple more. i had apricot ale which pretty nice!

we had to make our way back to lincoln centre and we only had 40 mins left to walk it!...and then it rains, actually pours down, with lightening and thunder! we were all drenched! and still had like 20 blocks to walk down! haha but we thought it was pretty funny acfter hacing a couple!
then the bus was running late, when it arived, it had a flat tyre on the freeway and we had to wait under a bridge or shall i say some homeless guy's home. finally dave and vic picked us up and we got home at 1! instead of 10. it was pretty fun day though!

best bit of the day was i bought a pashmere scarf for $2!!! so cheap and i love it! the funny thing is that marianne bought 2 scarfs for $12! haha she got ripped off in china town as well! haha man she's not going to do very well haha
